The Des Plaines Valley was the first chapter to be chartered into the Illinois Region. Though presently the smallest Chapter of the Region, we are quite relaxed. We charge no dues, but manage to function on a shoestring budget.
Chapter activities center around the Joliet area, but at times go astray. The chapter actively participates in the IL Region activities, including the region swap meet, region car show, region tours, and often joins the tours of the other IL Region chapters.
Members often travel to other antique automobile events including Iola and Hershey. They also enjoy joining meets and tours with other groups such as the Hudson, Franklin, Packard, and Studebaker clubs.
In the fall, when our antique cars are bedded down for the winter, the chapter often holds a “Klunker Tour” where work beaters are driven as the tour vehicles of choice.
We are small in number, but great in spirit. Whenever the IL Region needs assistance, Des Plaines Valley members are happy to help.
